   FROM THE COMMANDER

November means Holidays are here, need proof go to Home Depot!!!!!

Tis the season and we will start out with the Elks Club annual parade through downtown Punta Gorda on November 4th, the parade will start at 10:00am.  It is such a pleasure to be in the parade and witness our past Veterans line the streets and salute our float, it brings a tear to your eyes when some of our Vets have a hard time getting up from their wheel chairs to salute as we past by, so much for the NFL!!!!

November 3rd is the Post dinner consisting of Ham and scallop potatoes along with our fish and shrimp, cost is $8.00.

November 11th which is Veterans Day, we will have our service at the flag pole at 11:00am followed by our Early-bird BBQ starting at 12:00 noon.  You must show your 2018 Membership card which should be stamped with a bird, otherwise it will cost you a whopping $5.00.

November 23rd which is Thanksgiving and is on a Thursday this year, our dinner will be served from 12.00-4pm at a cost of $8.00.  The menu will be Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberries, green bean casserole, rolls and dessert.  Can really use help with this endeavor.

It’s nice to see the smiling faces of our snow birds, WELCOME TO ALL!!!!

For God and Country

 ATTENTION!!!

Membership is the life blood of any fraternal organization. Many organizations have seen a serious decline in membership, Post 103 has been very fortunate to maintain our numbers.

Each of us know at least one veteran who is not a member of a veteran’s organization. We are asking each of our members to take the time to ask one qualified veteran to join Post 103.

Charlotte County has a huge population of veterans; Post 103 needs to reach out to these individuals. I ask for your assistance in this recruiting effort.

Please invite your hesitant friends to come to the Post to learn about the good things Post 103 is doing in this community and also become familiar with the American Legion.

PLEASE PAY YOUR 2017 DUES OF $50.00

THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT
